At Ad Lane Carpentry, we strive for complete customer satisfaction with every project. This refund policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds, cancellations, and modifications to contracted services.

Service Categories

Custom Design and Planning Services

Design consultations, project planning, and initial estimates are generally provided at no charge. However, detailed architectural drawings or extensive planning services may be subject to fees that are non-refundable once work begins.

Custom Manufacturing Projects

Due to the bespoke nature of custom furniture and woodworking projects, special refund conditions apply. These projects include custom furniture, built-in storage, and other made-to-order items designed specifically for your space and requirements.

Installation Services

Standard installation services such as flooring, cabinet installation, and general carpentry work follow our standard refund policy outlined below.

Cancellation Policy

Before Work Begins

Projects may be cancelled before work begins with the following conditions:

  • Written notice of cancellation must be provided
  • Design fees and consultation costs are non-refundable
  • Materials ordered specifically for your project may not be refundable
  • Standard cancellation fees may apply as outlined in your contract

After Work Begins

Once fabrication or installation has commenced:

  • Deposits and payments for completed work are non-refundable
  • Materials costs are generally non-refundable
  • Labor costs for completed portions of work are non-refundable
  • Additional cancellation fees may apply based on project stage

Deposit Policy

Deposits serve multiple purposes in our workflow:

  • Securing your position in our production schedule
  • Covering initial material and design costs
  • Demonstrating commitment to the project
  • Offsetting business costs if projects are cancelled

Deposits are typically non-refundable but may be applied to future projects within one year of the original contract date, subject to our approval and project compatibility.

Quality and Workmanship

We stand behind the quality of our work and will address any issues that arise from defects in our workmanship at no additional cost. This includes repairs, adjustments, or replacements necessary due to our error or substandard work.

Warranty Coverage

Our workmanship warranty covers:

  • Structural integrity of our installations
  • Proper functioning of hardware and mechanisms
  • Adherence to agreed-upon specifications
  • Professional finishing standards

Warranty Exclusions

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from misuse or negligence
  • Changes in wood appearance due to natural aging
  • Damage from environmental factors beyond our control

Change Orders and Modifications

Changes to approved project specifications must be documented in writing and may affect project cost and timeline. Additional work resulting from change orders is billed separately and is not eligible for refund once completed.

Material Issues

We carefully inspect all materials before use. However, natural materials like wood may contain variations that are characteristic of the material. We will address significant defects but cannot provide refunds for minor natural variations that don't affect functionality.

Dispute Resolution Process

If you're unsatisfied with our work or have concerns about charges:

  1. Contact us immediately to discuss the issue
  2. Allow us opportunity to inspect and remedy any problems
  3. Document any issues with photos and detailed descriptions
  4. Work with us toward a mutually acceptable resolution

Refund Processing

When refunds are authorized, processing typically takes 5-10 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method when possible. For cash payments or unusual circumstances, refunds may be issued by check.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or inability to perform due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to severe weather, material shortages, permit delays, or other unforeseeable events. Such circumstances do not constitute grounds for refunds.

Customer Satisfaction Commitment

Our goal is always complete customer satisfaction. We encourage open communication throughout every project and will work diligently to address any concerns promptly and professionally.
